The use of the 42 admissions website (hereafter called “the Site”) is conditioned by the full acceptance of the general terms of use described below. Since these terms can be modified or completed at any moment, the Site user is invited to read them regularly.
The Site is the official application platform for campuses of the 42 network. Each campus has its own admissions website, hosted by Association 42. It allows any user to create an account, build an application file and complete all the steps of the admission process, up to the selection of the Piscine.
The Piscine refers to the four (4) week selection phase that allows each applicant to experience what computer programming and peer-learning pedagogy are about. At the end of it, selected candidates will be able to continue their 42 cursus within the campus.
The application process on the Site takes place in several successive steps:
The steps described below constitute the standard application process on the Site. As each campus of the 42 network is free to configure its own admission process, some steps may vary, be optional or not apply. This information is provided for indicative purposes only.
1. Account creation and acceptance of terms
The user must create a personal account by entering their email address and choosing a password that meets the following security requirements:
When creating their account, the user is invited to read and accept these General Terms of Use (hereinafter the "GTU"), the legal notices, the Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy of the Site. The creation of an account is subject to prior acceptance of these terms and conditions.
2. Email address confirmation
An email confirming your account creation will be sent to the address provided. The user must validate their email address to activate their account and access the subsequent steps of the admission process.
3. Profile completion
Once the account has been activated and the user has logged in to their personal account, the user fills in the following information: last name, first name, gender, date of birth and country of residence.
The user is also asked to indicate how they heard about 42.
4. Campus-specific steps
Depending on the campus selected, the user may be invited to complete additional forms or steps according to the terms specific to each campus. These steps may include commitment questionnaires, online selection game(s), a charter, an introductory meeting or the signing of internal regulations.
Where selection game(s) are included in the process, the user is invited to complete one or two online games designed to assess whether 42's pedagogy is a good fit for their profile. In such cases, a positive result in the selection game(s) is required to proceed to the next steps of the admission process. Each campus may configure its own success thresholds. Results are processed within forty-eight (48) hours and communicated to the user by email.
5. Additional information
The user fills in the information necessary for the proper follow-up of their application, in particular the contact details of their emergency contact.
6. Piscine selection
The user selects the Piscine session they wish to attend from the dates offered by the campus.
7. Piscine admission confirmation
Where applicable, the user receives confirmation of their admission to the chosen Piscine session. The campus may, at this stage, request additional information from the user.
8. Start date selection
If the user obtains a positive result at the end of the Piscine, they are invited to choose, from the dates offered by the campus, the kickoff date at which they will begin their 42 cursus.
The minimum configuration recommended to access the Site is the following: - Browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Opera - Screens: Smartphone, Tablet, portable PC, desk computer.
The user of the Site commits to access the site with a device that matches the conditions above and virus-free.
Association 42 uses its best efforts to ensure that the Site is accessible at all times. However, Association 42 does not guarantee that the Site will be free from errors, interruptions, technical malfunctions, or security vulnerabilities. An interruption for technical maintenance can be decided by Association 42, which will communicate beforehand the dates and times of the intervention.
The "42" name, logos, slogans and registered trademarks or not, represented on this Site, are the exclusive property of Association 42. Any use, reproduction and/or modification performed without prior written consent of Association 42 can constitute an infringement in terms of the Intellectual Property Code and can engage the civil and/or penal liability of the infringer.
The presentation and the content of the Site constitute together a work protected by current intellectual property laws and owned by Association 42. Any reproduction and/or representation, partial or whole, must be performed with the prior written consent of Association 42.
The drawings, photos, images, texts, animated sequences with or without sound, databases, software and other documentation on the Site are protected by intellectual and/or industrial property rights and are the property of Association 42 or of a third party that has authorized Association 42 to use them.
As such, any reproduction, representation, adaptation, translation and/or modification, in part or in full, or transfer to another site are forbidden.
The same goes for the extraction and reuse of content from databases accessed from the Site which are protected by provisions of the 1st July 1998 Law transposing into the Code of Intellectual Property of European Directive of March 11, 1996 relative to legal protection of databases.
As such, any reproduction, reuse or extraction of database content can engage the liability of the user.
In the course of operating the Site, Association 42 and the campus, acting as joint data controllers, collect a certain amount of personal data concerning the user.
This personal data is processed by Association 42 and the campus in accordance with the Law n°78-17 of January 6, 1978 modified and the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation n°2016/679 of April 14, 2016.

Furthermore, browsing the Site can entail the installation of cookies on the user's computer.

Association 42 strives to offer on the Site the most accurate information possible. However, Association 42 will not be liable for omissions, inaccuracies and deficiencies in updates, whether coming from third party partners or not that provide this information.
Association 42 reserves the right to modify the content of the Site at any moment without notice, interrupt or suspend some or all functionalities of the Site at any moment without notice. Association 42 will not be held liable for consequences of these modifications and interruptions.
The Site may contain hyperlinks to third-party websites. Association 42 has no control over the content of these external websites and disclaims any liability regarding their content, accuracy, availability or any damage resulting from their use.
The user is accountable to Association 42 and/or third parties for any material or moral damages, direct and/or indirect of any nature caused by the user and/or his servants for use of the Site which does not comply with the present articles. The user agrees with Association 42, its representatives, employees, partners against any demand, claim and/or action of any sort resulting from the violation of the said provisions.
Any dispute concerning notably the application, execution, interpretation and/or validity of the General Terms of Use and/or the use of the Site and/or the offered services that does not find an amicable settlement, will be subject to French Law.
Subject to any mandatory provisions applicable to the consumer – in particular those entitling the consumer to bring proceedings before the courts of their habitual residence – and to any overriding mandatory provisions applicable in the user's country of residence or in the country where the relevant campus is located, the courts of Paris shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
